Before You Sign Up...
Price
The price of your tour is guaranteed. Only if exchange rates rise significantly will there be a possibility of a small price increase. Other than this, there will be no surcharge once full payment has been received. Please note that tour members without student status will be required to pay a small additional supplement. Also note that all prices are listed in Canadian funds.
Fitness
This is an energetic tour! It will be important for everyone to be healthy and in reasonably good physical condition. The nature of the tour requires walking several miles daily (not all at once!), periods of standing, and walking up and down (sometimes many) stairs. You will also be responsible for carrying your own luggage to and from the hostels.
Health
While we're on the topic of health, although we'd love to admit everyone who registers, we cannot accept those who have severe or life-threatening allergies or health issues. We cannot guarantee an allergy-free environment on the tour. Loewentours requires that each tour member be covered by a health insurance policy valid in Europe. All tour members will also be required to sign a medical waiver form (see Q & A page, "Should I buy travel insurance?").
Food
Breakfast and one lunch or dinner will be included every day. All other meals, and all beverages and snacks will be the tour members' expense. On the day of arrival, supper will be our first meal together; and on the departure date, the tour will usually be over after breakfast. In the case of an early-morning departure, students will be able to purchase their own breakfast at the airport.
We are not able to guarantee the availability of any special or restricted diet foods to our group members while on tour. This includes - but is not limited to - vegetarian, diabetic, kosher, gluten-free, Muslim or Hindu diets.
Transportation
All ground transportation in Europe, when traveling as a group, is included in the price. Additionally in certain tours, each student will be given a free city transportation pass in selected cities which enables them to use the public transit system all day, free of charge. All other transportation used on the tour member's free time is the student's responsibility.
Lodging
We will stay in quality, clean youth hostels and/or small, family-run hotels in each city. The students will sleep in gender separated rooms with 3-5 (or up to 7) others in his/her room. Each tour member will need to obtain a youth hostel card, free to those under 18.
